My previous '01 that i had to seel in 2009 had the polished wheels. My 'new' '04 I thought had the same polished wheels but ... each wheel has the C5 'Corvette' name in red on one spoke. I first thought this might be unique to '04 (or maybe just after '01). A few weeks ago as I was cleaning the wheels I noticed that they are chromed as there was some chipping off at one the corners. I now assume they are after market wheels.
Has anyone seen these types of wheels .. or have them? Just curious about them - they look pretty cool !

They could be chromed OEM wheels, but it was done after the car left the factory since GM did not offer chrome wheels on the C5. Look on the back of the spokes and see if it has a GM logo on it. If so, it is a factory wheel that has been chromed. Otherwise, it is a reproduction wheel. As for the red Corvette wording, I'd bet it is just a decal that the previous owner stuck on one of the spokes on each wheel.
They sell decal in red that say Corvette. As others have said C5's didn't come with chrome wheels so unless someone had them chromed, they're aftermarket.

You mean the 04 c5 didn't come with chrome wheels right? My 99 has chrome and I'm pretty sure they are stock.
I have a complete set (front and rears) of polished rims that came from my 2002 coupe. They've been sitting in my garage for 2 1/2 years (they are presently mounted with the original equipment run-flat's, which have about 4,000 miles on them, but no TPMS sensors).
You can have them for $100. No shipping; we'll just meet somewhere between Arlington and McKinney at which time you can inspect them, and if you like them, then you can pay cash and take them home.
None of the C5s came from the factory with chrome wheels. Only painted and polished aluminum.
I learned something. Thanks. Next time I have them off the car I'll have to try to determine if they are chromed or aftermarket. I like the looks and their easy to keep clean

You are sure they were chrome? To my knowledge GM never had chrome wheels for the C5, They did have highly polished wheels that almost looked chrome.

I don't think they did after the '99 year, but if I recall the 97, 98 & 99 had any option of chrome wagon wheels - could be wrong be sure thought they did (very expensive tho).
