Default Vetteshop screens and install?

I broke down and ordered all 8 screens from Vetteshop.

For those who have theirs, how much of a pita are they to install on a base C5 coupe?

I have them and it was cake to install, Just remember to clean the surface and then clean again, Prep is the key, My side and rear screens mounted with double sided tape, I ended up also putting on some silicone to help hold them.

Thanks Bill.

So you put silicone around the edges of all of 'em before mounting them or along the crease after they were in?

You did which? Siliconed the edges before installing, or the creases after installing, or both?

I put them in place and then I spread silicone over the edges that don't show to the body and they have been on for years now with no issue, Like I said clean the surface really good.

No need to raise it but you may have to turn the front wheels.
I didn't use silicone, although a great idea, and mine are still in place after 3 years.

Okie-dokie - thanks guys

I think before I put the screens in I'll go through the finish restoration process I have laid out. No sense putting the screens in before that I suppose.

I installed mine about 2 years ago now. Even after several surface cleanings my cove screens never wanted to stay well secured. So I used a hot glue gun after using new double sided tape. Used it just around the outside areas of the DBL sided tape. Glue went through the screens and adhered to the body. I don't believe anything can get them loose now.

I have the screens from them (except for the rear fascia ones) and they were not hard to install at all. The only ones you really have to be careful with are the front brake duct screens - I put a couple of layers of blue painters tape around the opening and then carefully installed the screens through the opening. Takes a little maneuvering to get them in there, especially with the brake duct accordion there, but be patient and it can be done.

Default I got a nicer job on duct screens by jacking the car up,

removing the bottom duct area covers (5 screws each) and inserting the screens, then reversing the process. Eliminates the possible damage to screens and paint and allows for exact placement. It is easy this way to manipulate the ducts. 30 minute job and fail safe. Use jack stands.

Hate to hijack...but does anyone have the pattern for the screens. I purchased some hex opening sheet that I'd like to make screens out of. Thanks - Leroy
