Last week my 1997 Vette (automatic tranny) was showing signs of a battery going bad, but we know batteries just go most of the time without warning; and this one was purchased less than a year ago; so I didn't think it was going bad. As the week wore on, the car became harder to crank over. In fact by Wednesday I was manually cranking the starter with the key to get it to turn over. By Friday afternoon, she has had it. Saturday I got one last crank out of her and now sits dead in my garage.
I ran the DTC codes and nothing came up that would indicate anything to do with this. I also pulled the battery out and took it to my local auto parts store, had it tested and found out it was fine. I have not jacked up the car yet.
I was hoping that from the symptoms, someone can tell me if its the starter, the solenoid, or how I can diagnose it with me not being an electrician or anything of the sort.
Thanks again & Happy Fathers Day!!

If you have a battery charger, charge it for a couple of hours and try it then. You may have a drain on the battery that kills it over time, a loose connection, or any some kind of other issue. If that doesn't get it,, try to 'jump' it to get it started. Once you get it started, go immediately to a auto parts store that will test you charging system and battery for free.
