Default z issues

i have a car that was tuned by norris motorsports in IN i live in mn does anyone from here know him or know of a good way to ask some questions , i am having ck engine light issues that i would like resolved .i have tried e mailing a few times already ?

i have 520 to the wheels does anyone know of a good sticky sport tire to use i have 19x11 in the rear with nito invos at 70 % and i might as well be driving on ice . i am not really beating up on anyone due to the fact i need to wait till i am in fourth to blow their doors off ?

also i have read multiple threads on here about water leaks around the doors which i have , is their a updated door seal kit from gm or someone to solve these issues or do you all work with what you have.

god bless the guys that made my z from the engineers to all the aftermarket parts makers because god i love this car and it is just an absolute beast to drive " if you have the means , i highly suggest you drive one " . nothing better than beating up on all the ford guys and their cute stangs .

Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 305/30-19 or 325/30-19. They're definitely a higher performance tire than the Invo, but they still behave well in non-ideal road conditions, which is probably important to you since you live in Minnesota. If you only drive your car when it's warm and dry, then you might as well invest in some R-comps to support the amount of power you're making, just so long as you store the tires so they never see freezing temps.

I just got the Bridgestone RE-11 tires on my Z06.
275/30/19, and 305/30/19
Dallas is a concrete paradise and these puppies stick like GLUE !
I was able to hammer first and it stuck my 471rwhp/441rwtq !
I sure was surprised.

I'm VERY impressed with them in every way so far.

My old Contentials would spin on the concrete here in 1st and 2nd very easily.

I have not had much time on normal pavement because there is not much of that around here.

I compared

Nitto Invo, Hankook, Michelin, Yokohama Advan, and a few others.

I was looking for max summer performance, and something that would last me 15K miles (5 yrs driving for me). Many reviews I read on the tire stated I would get good mileage from them. As long as I keep the burn outs to a minimum. They also stated that they seem to hook well thru the entire life of the tire.

I have only had them on now since Feb , but so far they are hooking like a mad dog.

I kept hearing that the Nittos did not hook on higher HP cars, and run narrow
Hankooks dont stick well on higher HP car's either i read. Friends also told me that the side walls felt soft.
The Michelin's were big $$. The Yoko's were almost as expensive.

I got the Bridgestone's for $1340 installed, and tax included at my local Firesone dealer. That was cheaper than what I could have got them at Tire Rack.

275/30/19 front, and 305/30/19 rear.

FYI, the online price of the Michelin PSS is approximately the same as the RE-11.

To the OP - how will you be using your car? Will it see cold/wet conditions, or only fair weather?

Interesting ! The Michelin price came down since Xmas when I was looking. They were $1600 or so for the set before. I wonder why the pricing change ?
The large lip protector on the Michelin's is something I wanted to get away from anyway. My old Continentals had a huge lip protector and it made my rear tires stick out 1/4" from my rear fender. I wanted to eliminate that, and make things more flush. The RE-11's have a much less pronounced lip protector compared to the Conti's and the Michelin's.

I got the Brindgestone RE-11's locally for $1340 installed, tax included. I still saved some cash with these over the Michelin's, and they are a softer compound too (200a vs 300a). Should be stickier.

Time will tell...

275/30/19 front, and 305/30/19 rear.

Continental on the left..... RE-11 on the right

I actually like the lip protector, since the Z06 is my daily driver and I need to parallel park on a somewhat regular basis. If I was in your position, I'd probably agree with you, though.

I got that same price for the PSS through America's Tire (aka Discount Tire) with an additional $100 mail-in rebate back in February. (265/35/18 and 305/30/19)

Yeah, these are the same two tires I researched before purchasing. Seemed like the RE-11 had better dry performance but the PSS was the better all-around tire, when taking into consideration things like wet performance and tread life. Again, If my Z06 was just a weekend toy, I probably would have gone with the RE-11.

In the OP's case, if he drives frequently in what I imagine to be typical Minnesota weather, then the PSS might be the best choice for him. But if he's more selective with when he drives, then I agree that the RE-11 is about the tamest tire he should consider. With 520 at the wheels, he should also think about something like the R888 or a drag radial, depending on his driving style.

True to all of it !

471/441 to the wheels here.
I wanted something that would "stick" and last me ~15K miles.
I don't drive in the rain so wet performance is not an issue.
Just a weekend cruiser on nice days.

Default thanx

good info all around guys thanks alot , i think the bridgestone re11 is the way for me . i very rarely drive the car if its not perfect out but i need to be prepared in case i do get caught in a rain storm ? which is why i will stay away from the drag radials . i have no idea how the invo's were new but just so you all know i would not recommend them . they look nice ride good but just no real traction . kinda scary to say the least .

I run my parents auto repair shop and have been doing so for 12 years now so i am really not too scared of cars over the years i have had a few muscle cars plus most my buddies have low 10 second fox body mustangs so i feel as though i am a competent driver and i love to grip and rip but that was till this car holy sh*$. this car constantly puts a smile on my face and make's me feel like a frail old man at the same time and i usually say "god where have been my whole life " . this car just has it all !!

so what is the mileage expectancy of the re11 's ? i dont care really but curious .

does anyone else have the radiofyer hid kit ? i have it cause it came with the car but i dont really like the clear covers and how they look they are kinda hazy ? should i buy new ones or try that cleaner compound stuff ?
thanks all .

I was told many are getting 15K. Depending on your right foot of course. Its hard to say though.
Dallas concrete roads are ROUGH on tires. I may not get the 15K others have reported.
If your all paved up there then you will likely get more mileage than I get from mine (your smoother roads).
If all your roads are paved then I suspect less grip than I have too.

My RE11's grip a LOT better new than my Continentals did new.

I can not compare directly to the Michelin Super Sport tires since I have not had them.

I hope the RE-11's work out well for you. I am enjoying mine, and the new found grip.

The RE-11's are rated 8.3/10 on Tire rack for Wet grip. Sooo if you do get into some rain you should be fine.

Say what? They are excellent tires, but wow. My friend spins the crap out of them every time he drives his bone stock 08 C6. He spins them in 1st and 2nd and easily drifts it during fun runs at Autocross every event. He's running stock sizes with 285/18 rears.

Default hhmmmm

excellent question ? they are in the place of the pop up's "fixed ", they are the stealth cannons i believe . not trying to bust radioflyers ***** but i wish everything was holding up better , the clear cover's are faded, the painted to match area around the hid lens is bubbling and the high beams are useless . the low beam hid function works great and very bright just wish the cosmetic things were better . my car is pretty much a garage queen and i pride myself on how clean and nice it is , i have a great daily driver and living in this f 'ing state you better .

i am very jealous of you guys from down south the weather sounds awesome and i would love to be able to drive the car 10 months out of the year instead of 5 (and thats pushing it ).

Keep in mind that I'm talking about the concrete roads in Dallas.
TOTALLY different than regular pavement.

I can hook my 471/441 (rear wheel) almost completely from a 10 mph roll in 1st with my new RE-11's.
I could NEVER do that when my old Continental's were new.
1st and 2nd would spin hard on my old tires on concrete !

All I am trying to say is that grip wise these are WAY better than anything else I have tried.

For Dry traction the RE-11's rate 9.5/10, and the Michelins rate 9.7/10 on Tire Rack

I'm quite sure I could blow either tire apart on regular pavement type roads.
But I'll bet both would stick like glue on the concrete roads I drive on.

I have the ACA's and I modified them with the Morimito Bi Zenon projectors.

Is this kinda like what you have ?

I absolutely LOVE mine !

if it's the re11 and not the re760 he can't drive

simple as that

a stock ls3 should have no trouble putting power down on an re11

in fact a skilled driver could do it on something harder like the re760

as for high hp cars, toyo r888 would be my go to. they just have amazing grip, especially once you get them over 100deg. they won't last as long as an re11 but they are stickier.

few weeks ago i went for a ride in a new GTR with 888s and i was absolutely floored at the level of grip. it was a nice hot day, roads were probably close to 100. really felt like driving on slicks. based on my body g meter it felt like 1.3-1.4g which is just unbelievable on the street. the g meter in the car was maxxed past 1g many different times

Yes I looked.. .the RE-11 don't come in 285/18.
He must be talking about the RE760's

The RE760's are a 340A hardness, and get a 8.8 on grip from Tire Rack.

Decent tire for all around, but not in the same league as the RE-11, or the Michelin SS.

Sounds like you have the Version 1 headlights. The design is rather antiquated compared to the V2 design (with bi-xenon projectors) The Lens fading issue has also been fixed.

While the V2 kit has many different internals than the original kit, the lens design is still the same. If you'd like I can sell you a set of replacement lenses which will significantly help the appearance and performance of your lights.
