I am getting an intermittent rapid flashing of the turn signals. The signals work but very rapidly. I thought the problem might be the flasher, but can't find any mention of or location of the flasher in the owners manual.
Would appreciate any help.
Jeff
You can bypass the hazard switch and install a seperate flasherfor the turn signal. Made a bypass for about 10 bucks. You can find the fix in the tech forum. Just do a search under turn signals.
Before you work on the flasher, check to see if either the front or rear bulbs is not flashing when it should during the fast flash. It would be odd if both sides exhibited the same problem at the same time, but it only takes a minute to check. The flasher generally doesn't cause a fast flash, but with these complicated combined flashers anything is possible.
I do not have LEDs.
When it goes into rapid flash mode, all of the lights work as they should except very rapid flash.
Thanks all for the input, great forum!
The signals use the same flasher and the hazards.
That unit is prone to malfunction. Many replace it.. There are a couple different approaches that you will find.
Many just turn the hazards on and off a couple times to clean the contacts and the turn signal function returns.
You will eventually have to change out the hazard flasher but the above approach may buy you 2-3 years.
Also if it is one of the front blubs do a search on You Tube replacing front signal light blub C5 and the information and the video is very helpful and a very easy repair.
