Another tire question
I know that some are running 275-40/17 in the front rather than the stock 265s.
Does the 275 look that much different.
I really would like to get the conti extreme DWs, but they no longermake the 265s

I can't tell any visual difference.

I'd be surprised if anyone could tell just by looking between the two. it's around a 3% difference in size.

Checked on 1010tires and it is actually 1.24% diif. and 4mm taller.
I can't believe that I will be able to see the difference.

Here is the Conti DWS (not DW) in 275-40/17:
I never noticed any issue with the extra few mm ....

post a side profile of your car, wouldn't mind seeing the 275/295 conti difference
dws and dw have a similar sidewall
why did you put a dws on a corvette anyway? just for the couple db quieter ride?

A side profile showing the front and rear would be great if you could post it.

My rule is "No heavy loads, no gravel roads, no snow .... take the 'vette!"
So I wanted the All Season capability, hence the DWS. They are coming off as soon as the new Vredesteins get here. 30,000+ miles on the DWS and they never saw any S at all.
This is as close to a side shot as I could find .... probably can't tell anything but here it is:

4mm x 2. It should be 4mm taller on each side of the rim, thus 8mm taller. And it is 10mm wider.

OK 8mm taller overall. That's about 5/16 of an inch. It would still not be as tall as the rear tire.

it's not but it is in some cases as close as .4"
wear down the rears a little faster and it could be .3"
borderline TCS issues
the NT05 works because it's a short 275 and tall 295
contis are standard case

Has there been documented evidence or a press release from GM that this could cause problems with the TCS?

better, people here have experienced it.
make a thread with a title of "tire height and TCS issues"
you'll get quite a few replies. probably more in c5 tech
