Passenger rear view mirror
When I park my 97 coupe in the garage I spin the mirrors in to avoid any chance of scratching or hitting anything while moving around it. Today the passenger rear view will not click back into place. It just swivels loosely like something is missing or stripped. Any ideas how to fix without taking door panel off and removing assembly?

Ok I popped the mirror off and it appears that the spring inside that puts pressure on the mirror to stay in place has a lock washer on top to keep the spring compressed. I need to compress the spring down and get that washer back on the post. It's really tight in there and the spring is pretty strong. A there any tricks or how tos ?

This has been discussed a few tmes on the forum and I stand by my belief that the ability to move them is a safety feature and they ar enot intended to be moved all the time. Your experience kind of verifies that point.
