SCV not working?

SCV not working?
2004 Base Vette with the Bose stereo system. I don't think the SCV control is working. No matter which setting I put it on, the volume level does not increase as the outside noise does.
For comparison, my 2003 Envoy has a similar feature and I do hear the difference in volume so I think I would be able to tell the difference.
I looked in the owner's manual and all it shows is how it works, but nothing regarding a troubleshooting. Where would be the first place to look for any issues that might be preventing this from working properly? My first thought would be fuses, but certainly there isn't a fuse specific to only the SVC portion of the radio...

So I was messing around with the dial on my way in to work today. I guess there may have been a VERY slight difference in the volume from the lowest setting to the highest setting. Perhaps I'm just not driving fast enough.
