Hey guys so while it's not a huge issue I just thought Id ask. My stock keyfob has terrible range. I'm talking about having to be within like 10 feet to get it to work. My first thought is the battery in the keyfob. I'm not sure when the battery was last changed but is this the normal range for these fobs ?
changed the battery Saturday, incredible increase in range, went from less than 10 feet to what seemed like over 100 feet in a shopping mall parking lot. $6 including installation at a watch counter at Sears here in Oakville, Ontario.
I just read something about those in my " Uncle John's Bathroom Reader." Don't laugh, it's where I get all my info. Those are great books. Those of you that are familiar with them know what I'm talking about. Well anyway, supposedly if you put them under your chin and push the button, the range is supposed to be better. Even better if you open your mouth. I kid you not! Kind of like when you hold a radio antenna, the station comes in clearer, but when you let go it doesn't. I haven't tried it, but if it really works, you heard it here first.
