Ok...So i am not sure whats under my car yet...I know I have the old SLP loudmouths, but i am not sure whats in front of that yet, as I havent gotten to look under my car yet.
If there is nothing other than the SLP exhaust, would picking up a borla x-pipe for 100$ that I have access to be a good thing?
Long story short: a x-pipe will slightly decrease back pressure and smooth out the exhaust note on deceleration. But if your primary goal is more power, save your cash for other mods.
I have Borla Stingers and then I got the Borla X pipe and I think it sounds better now than before, no performance gains but does sound better. I'm glad I got it.
Can you do the install yourself? It requires cutting the h pipe and clamping the new x pipe in. I did one on my old 02 z. Bought for $80. I liked the new exhaust note so it was worth it to me. Cheap mod and a little time away from the wife. I wouldn't have bought it if I had to pay a shop to put it in.
To answer your question there selling point is that it balances out the exhaust flow and frees it up a little. Will get you little HP but sound better.
