What does GM say about temp limits and what is normal for a C5 stock LS1.

Thanks 8VETTE7. I don't think mine has gotten above 225 in traffic. Does running the ac help or hurt?

I am a 70 year old Corvette Newbie but I want to learn everything I can about my "bucket list" car. Wanted one since I was 16. It took 55 years but I love it. White/red C5 convertible.

Running the A/C will make the car run slightly hotter.

Here's a tip, if your ever in a situation where the car is running too hot and you you want to cool it down a little without stopping, turn the heater on to the maximum setting. The heater core is actually a mini radiator plumbed into the cooling system, when activated, it removes heat from the cooling system to heat the interior of the car.

Some of you already know this, but some may find it usefull.
