Hi folks, I'm attending Corvettes at Carlise for the fourth time this year. First two times with my C4, third time in limbo, and now this year with my new to me 02 C5. I'm looking forward to seeing the C7 in person as well as meeting Tadge and his team. I bumped into Tadge last year behind the main stage and thanked him for his great work on C5 and C6. This year I'd like to get signatures from the team on my LS1 engine covers and I'm wondering whats the best means to do so? Does Sharpie make a good silver marker that weathers well? Does anyone have good advice as to what works well and lasts in the heat of the engine compartment? Thanks
Excellent suggestion thanks Calvin's! I Googled Testors and they have a paint pen in silver metallic. Maybe it will be a close match to my Quicksilver Metallic!!!
If anybody has pix of their covers signed post them up so I can see them!!!
Had Mario Andretti autograph the FRCs on my C5 and on my C6 during meet and greet events at his winery in Napa, CA. He had different pens for different items. He had pens for fabric (T-shirts, hats), glass (wine bottles and glasses) and a different one for the FRCs. Wonder if a store selling memorabilia would have special pens for autographs? Andretti signed the C5 FRC some ten years ago and the signature is bright although some of the edges staring to fade (I must be more careful when wiping down the FRCs.
Finally got around to uploading a pic of my signed FRC from Carlisle. Passenger side signed by Tadge, and Dave McClellan, Peter Brock and Reeves Callaway to name a few. Used silver sharpie and it has held up wonderfully so far.
Now I need to get the factory racers to sign the driver side.
