Gmorning-

Put on about 100 miles on the Vert yesterday afternoon, gorgeous evening. Had it over 100 to 120MPH on the eway back and forth with a yellow C6 coupe along side, FUN!. Adrenaline rush. Amazing that at 90 you could step on it and she purrs like a kitten to 100+ in a heartbeat. C5 what a car!

Btw only having her a little over 90 days still don't know that car as well as I'd like to. When I arrived back at the digs the steering wheel did not re track automatically as it always did in the past. Tried it again, didn't do it again. Am I missing something? Thank you Gentlemen, enjoy your Sunday.

The longer you have this car, the more of these hiccups you'll run across. Some just do it once and others will last a few days, then disappear. Crazy electronics in them. I've learned to wait overnite and then if it's still there the next day, try to do something about it. Most of the time the problem isn't there the next day. Used to drive me crazy! Not anymore. I sleep like a baby.

Your telescopic column may be malfunctioning. It's fairly common. The service manual has a recalibration procedure you can go through if it continues to not function.

Telescoping Steering Column Calibration

Telescoping Soft Stops

After replacement of the seat control module, it is necessary to program the telescoping soft stops. Each soft stop is a programmable end of travel that is set approximately 1.3 cm (0.5 inch) from the mechanical end of travel. The steering column has a soft stop set at each end of the telescoping in/out movement. The system uses soft stops to prevent wear on the system by ensuring that the steering column movement stops before it reaches its mechanical end of travel in any direction. The soft stops are initially programmed at the factory. The stop positions may be reprogrammed, which is necessary any time the seat control module is replaced, as described in the following procedure. It's very simple:

Telescoping Soft Stop Programming Procedure

1] Turn ignition to ON, leaving the engine off.

2] To set the telescoping in soft stop, press the telescoping COLUMN IN switch at least eight times or until the column moves.

3] Press the telescoping COLUMN IN switch and hold the switch until the column travels all the way in, and continue to hold the switch about a second after motion stops at the mechanical end of travel. The soft stop for the column in position is now set. The seat control module automatically goes back to the normal mode of operation.

4] Repeat steps 2 and 3, using the COLUMN OUT switch, to set the column out position soft stop

1.) Thank you o2b I'm sure that could be applicable as we only just begun our journey together

2.) As usual Ed, great post response. It's appreciated. Thank you.

PS. Everything's come together very well with wheels, tires, rotors, calipers and all. I'm very pleased with my new CCWs & Kooks tires they look & perform 100X better. Calipers came out pretty good. Unfortunately there was a big gap in between the 19" tires and the body. Thus another need for, lets call it an investment , helps me feel better. Pdaft coil overs $1800 and change to get her down and improve handling. Upon receiving them (backorder hopefully this week) and installing I will post up some photos as it just looks way to funky all jacked up like that Thanks again for all your suggestions and kind advise. You are the best!

Hope it was just a glitch in the telescoping function.
