Default Been getting real hot lately.

So 5 months ago. i bought a 04 z06 with 26k miles.

First week i would get that rotten egg smell. Googled it and first thing i thought about was gas.

Went away.... Mostly use 91.

Here in northern california it has been 100+ easy lately. 90+ right now.

I have been getting on the car a little hard more and more since im getting used to it. Nothing to serious but i have been noticing the temperaure above 220 a lot. If i get on it for more than 5 min i get that rotten egg smell again also.

An ideas?

Car is completey stock to my knowledge. Was thinking about a callaway CAI and 160 tstat. Along with a tune from tps.

What do you guys think?

Rotten egg smell is associated with the catalytic converters, from what I have learned. A blocked cat can cause problems.

Those temps normal especially i your 100 deg temps outdoors. I highly recommend you send off for an ECU tune where they will adjust Fans and you can swap to 160 deg T Stat. $150 best money you'll ever spend

Could i also get a dyno tune to do this? Or is an ecu tune almost the same thing? Which is better?

do you have the ac on?

also could be scaling in the cooling system

in a hot climate i would replace the radiator every 7-8 years regardless of mileage

cooling efficiency goes down every year a radiator has coolant in it. tubes corrode heat transfer is reduced

you can try cleaning the one you have to improve things. these cars are vacuum cleaners and you may have a bunch of river sand and grass in the fins

I would look into getting a 160 Tstat, and your cats checked out

Yes they both do the same. A dyno tune done by a good tuner is probably best but will cost more. For a basically stock car with an intake and tstat a mail order tune would work well and save you a few bucks. ECS would be my suggestion for a mail order tune.
