Bodyshop discussion
1. The bodyshop is using a used door and fender for my car
2. They are stripping the door down to its bare piece to paint it. No weatherstripping, latch, etc.
3. My old weatherstripping, or the replacement door's weatherstripping will be used based on which one is in better condition. If both are not good, then a new one will be added to the repair cost and a supplemental claim made
4. The window regulator will be new
5. The interior door sill is available in "camel". I have a CE so I am not sure what "camel" means as far as a match. If it does not match, it will be painted to match
6. The door, rocker panel, and fender will be "jammed" (painted in the odd areas and mating areas, or covered areas, then placed on the car and masked and painted to match.
7. My door glass will be used.
8. The styrofoam pads/cushions, whatever, inside the door are discontinued. Used ones will be located.
9. My inner door panel (tow tone shale/tan has some minor damage and they will try to find a used replacement, OR use mine as is and the insurance will kick back an "appearance" allowance ( I have not seen the damage to the panel yet)
So what do you think? Any of this unacceptable? The concern is that if the dollars get too high, they will total the car. ($7100 so far)

In regards to the interior colors, anything they don't have a direct replacement / reuse for, ask them to provide a color sample (painted or otherwise) for you to compare, and compare in it low light, decent light, and full sun light to make sure you're satisfied.
Same probably goes for the exterior paint color, though my issues with that arose from a previous repaint of the car.
In regards to the 'camel' color, contact Gene at GM Parts House (have your VIN info handy) and see what he has to say about it. He's been extremely helpful with similar issues on some of our other vehicles (XLR for example).
The foam isn't a huge deal, just get what you can and have it put in.
One thing I will say, since the door will be apart, look into getting sound insulation put in the doors while they're at it. I just this past week put Raam Audio (forum member's company) sound insulation in both my doors (trunk area and divider were already done with this stuff) and it's made a HUGE difference in road noise and has made the stock speakers sound like a whole new sound system.
