Default Low tire pressure warning

Maybe I should post this on the tech side, but confident someone here will have an answer. Went out and jumped in the vert after getting back from summer vacation yesterday. According to the DIC I had a low left rear tire (22 PSI). I drove it back to the shop, checked the pressure and it was indeed at 22 PSI. I put 30 lbs in it and went on my way. It seemed like it took a long time for the DIC warning to clear, but after 3-5 minutes it did clear. I tried several different buttons on the DIC control, but is there one we are supposed to hit to get it to reset earlier? Or does in only check pressures every so often? Not a big deal, just curious. Now...need to determine how it got that low.

I'm thinking maybe while it was sitting, the warning activated, then you have to drive it a while to "wake up" the sensor so it sends the higher pressure. As far as the DIC knew, it was still at 22lbs until the new pressure reading came across. If it had been activated and then you put air in, it would send the new pressure immediately. I think the sitting while you were gone caused the delay by deactivating the sensor to save the battery in the sensor as it should.

If your Vette is a 1997-2001, then when a tire gets below 25 lbs, usual to get this warning.

Happened all the time on my 2000 Coupe.

Thanks guys, car was sitting for a week and had the "tender" on it. I will keep an eye on it and hopefully it does not come back (nail or something in the tire).
