Seriously, we use an insulated zippered bag and two large freezer packs. It holds plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, cold cuts and an 18 pack of beer--probably get one in walmart.

Hadn't considered one of the bags...good tip...
Wife and I played hooky yesterday and decided we would take a nice drive and have a picnic out in the middle of nowhere...
when I started inventory and went to the basement for a cooler, I realized my YETI wasn't going to get the job done...(first time I've ever said that..HA)

Coleman makes a hard sided cooler called, " picnic stacker". It has a flat lid with indentations so you can stack coolers, if that makes you happy. The top insulation in a little thin by looking at it, but you can always drop some clothes or a blanket on top if you need more performance.
But it does fit into the convertible trunk. I grabbed one when I saw it, at a place called Sportmart.
They might have mis-judged the amount of people who were dying to stack some coolers, since I no longer see it for sale. IT was in the market last summer and might still be around.
Too bad they didn't market the thing to c5 convertible owners, they could have sold a few more.
