I am thinking of trading in my 99 coupe for a 2002 Z06, however I have been checking around and I have found a lot of used 2002 z06's for sale with low miles, This makes me think that the car has a problem?
$50K toy that many people bought on credit with 0% financing. With everything going on with stock and employment market, I'm sure there are many folks who really like the car but do the smart thing and sell if they hit on hard times.
I'm sure the 17,000 jobs being lost at Worldcom on Friday will translate to yet a few more on the market. Sad but true. The same thing is happening with upscale new construction homes in Houston because of Enron, and all the other economic challenges the city has had recently. People who put deposits on upscale homes are walking away leaving the house for sale after construction at pretty good discounts...
You can probably get a great deal on a perfect slightly used one that needs a new home.
Read the posts. Search the archives. There have been relatively few problems with the '02s. That being said, of course there's always the potential for problems in a new car, but there's no reason to be particularly wary of '02 Z06s, IMHO.

I just talked to a guy last night that bought a 2002 with 3000 miles on it. The previous owner traded it in on a Benz. I think some people read the fantastic reviews on it, buy it, then realize that they are not looking for that kind of car.
I Agree!! only having one IS the problem, not enough time to drive it and polish/admire it at the same time. Just over 1,000 miles and loving every one of them..
I think a lot of folks buy these without realizing how fast they are, if you have never driven a beast before they can be scary when you go WOT, get to very high speeds with great ease.... too fast a toy for some who then realize they ought to sell before they hurt themselves. Also a lot of the 0 down/0% financing helped folks make bad decisions they now have to correct.

Did you get your baby back from the shop yet?
It was the timing chain that expired, right?
Looking forward to receiving those wheels and tires soon. :chevy
Are we still looking at about two weeks or so?
Yea - alot of people get scared of the brute force power and cant handle it.. so they trade them back in for a MiniVan!! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
