hmm subscribed, I still use windows movie maker, but I'll like a basic alternative just to blur license plates.

Mentioned cost of these software too, wondering if investing is the only option when I decide windows movie maker isn't cutting it anymore.

That's exactly where I was at. MM is great for what it is but you get to the point where you want to do more. Whatever program you decide to get, use YouTube for tutorials - lots of ideas there and they are a lot more interesting than reading through a manual!
