Yesterday we had a great deal of rain, my car was operating fine I did however have some water come in on the drivers side. After the car sat all day I went to start it and got several messages Reduced Engine Power, Service ABS and Traction Control System, Low Voltage and Service Engine Soon and now it wont start or even turn over at all. I have researched and have found out it could be a bad BCM, but I also heard there are connections under the drivers seat that could have caused this problem as well, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes put a new one in and within 10 minutes it was dead as well and all the same messages were appearing I did however have time to pull the codes before it croaked. Everything says NO COMM. HELP PLEASE!!!!
I am going to move this to the Tech section, thanks everyone.
Why? There is no magic bullet here, dry stuff out, get a freshly charged battery in and PRAY (if your in that kind of stuff). This could be a huge issue if the water got high enough inside.
You have to dry-out the interior. Get a shop vac. and put about 4 canisters of Damp-Rid in that interior overnight. Also leave the doors open during the day unless it's raining.
Although you said the water was on the driver's side, any water getting into the BCM ( body control module) in the footwell of the passenger side will give you similar type problems.
