Just had a coworker compliment me on how good my 'vette sounded and then, of course, proceeded to tell me about his wife's 5.0 Mustang with LT headers, cat back, and CAI that was tuned to get 500 rwhp!
I asked him if it was blown but he said "No, it's all done with the variable cam timing". Does Ford have a 5 liter capable of that?
Geez, all that on mine was just good for about 40 horses!
The new 5.0s supposedly do put out a good bit. Not necessarily to the ground tho. I will say that the dealers do say that with those mods she said that they can tune it to make 500. Ford has a lil performance catalog.
I only know bc I used to work for a ford dealer. Not from personal experience with a stang. They r a fun test drive but nothing for a c5 to be afraid of

I believe the 5.0 Mustang (2013) cranks out 420 bhp in stock form. Add all the stuff you mention and it would give it some more power, but no where near 500 rwhp. I'd say they are way optomistic on their HP numbers.

They are usually in the 360' ish range bone stock to the rear wheels. BTW, besides my vette & camaro I also own 2 mustangs, so I speak from experience. No way a tune, LT's & a CAI are going to give you that power.....
