Default E-Cutouts??

Hi everyone,
I havn't seen this mentioned much and i was very curious as to why not!? I was thinking about ordering two electronic cut-out Y pipes and installingn them just behind the H pipe where there is some nice space to play with... I was thinking of having a shop just weld them in, have the too facing down and in and wiring the switch into the cabin.... For something like $300-500 why dont more people do this? or do they? My friend who is a mechanic says the car will run fine between mode switches... any imput?

I ran them on my old cars, always worked great. I plan on running two soon.

if you mount them that way make sure they aren't gonna become speed bump stops

I had a set of QTP's and got rid of them.....here's a few problems with cut-outs. it's hard to tuck them on a c5 well enough that they won't scrape on big bumps and such. You can do it but it's tough. Another thing even with turn downs on the car, if you plan on doing ANY kind of hard running of the car whether it be canyon run or road racing, be prepared to melt your rear leaf spring until it snaps. I went through 2 rear leaf springs and I had turn down pipes on my cut outs to try and eliminate the heat going to the spring. Third thing, the electric motors after awhile will go out sometimes really quickly. I had my cut outs for less than 2 years and one of the motors stopped working. It was very frustrating having all these issues so I got rid of them. Just giving you my experience. I personally don't think it's worth the cost.

DMH low profiles here as well. They are a great product and have a killer warranty.

I have always had this planned. Just studying the best possible way to get it done. I have had a single cutout on my Trans Am for years. It's wonderful to go from stock quiet to nasty nasty loud lol.

I cant get the link but Youtube search for C5 B&B Fusion... there are a few guys here with that system and i think there is a link on the B&B site upper right side. The other option is just find a nice catback that you will be happy with... Stock Ti w/ Mod (search Ti Mod on here an Youtube), Corsa ect... they are nice around town and open up with heavy throttle.

FYI... IF you have stock Titanium Z06 exhaust you will have trouble.. cant weld steel to Titanium... they will have to be under the car... For me not worth the trouble.

I would suggest looking at the "Ti Mod" and see if you would be happy.. it basically does the same as the cut out jut not as loud and will be open all the time.. from what i have read everyone who does it really likes it.
Ti Bypass mod

Thought this looked interesting... but looks like it has to be a base muffler... or alot of expensive Ti components

just an update... decided against the cut outs more or less. Motor life seems to vary a lot and when i spend $500+ on something id like it to last for sure... I may consider bolt on/bolt of cut outs and just choose my mode before i drive, also just considering some aggro pipes

I had one of mine go out in a sense. The motor fell off of it. It was after 3 years and 11 months of use. Dave took care of me though and sent me two new cutouts.
