Fuel level sensor issues
I know that this trouble already have been discuss but cannot find solution.
On Friday I drive with my wife to the party. Suddenly car was stoped. Tank was empty.
But indication of the scale was halfway. Taxi, nearest gas station, plastic bottle, screaming of tanker man cause pour a plastic bottle of gasoline forbidden. But this is Russia-a-a-a-a!!!111
And I return to my car with a plastic bottle full of gas.
After this incident, I decided to closely observe the scale. Full tank in fact, it may appear full or nearly full at scale. Half in fact -
without-quarter to full at scale. Empty or near empty in fact = half or less at scale. Sometimes (seldom) scrolling text show me "refuel".
In my humble experience float is broken. I saw part catalog and as far as I understand float is a part of fuel pump.
The price tag is not happy (about 1000$ with shipping). Maybe there is more cheaply solution?
Thank you.
Here in the US we have a product called Techron. It a a cleaner that can be added to the gas tank when adding fuel. It works sometimes by cleaning the electrical contacts that registers the fuel level. (shows the amount of fuel left in tank) The product is manufactured by Exxon/Texaco here in the US. It costs about $10.00 US dollars here .
Another hint is to set your trip odometer when you fill your tank and keep track of the miles/kilos you put on the tank of gas. That too should keep you from running out of petrol.

One thing you can do as well as using the Techron (if you can get it) is to run the best petrol available to you. 93 octane would be preferable if it is available to you.
I found something at Russia. Techron Concentrate Plus 14$ is it this?
I heard something that American and European octane numbers are different. We have got 92 or 93 (regular) chipest. 95 (super) and 98 (super plus). And yours 87 octane is European 92
There is a myth hear in Russia that all American cars must be used with regular gas only.
And the second argument for regular gasoline is there isn't clean gas higher than 92 in Russia. All high-octane gasoline is with additives.

As for the octane, the highest available in the area that I live is 93. The C5 manual recommends using 91 or higher for best performance. I don't know enough about the affects that a higher octane fuel would have on the LS1 motor so I'll leave that answer to others. I'm sure others will share their views.
Good luck to you.

Adding Techron is the first step with fuel problems. After you have ran it through 2 tanks of gas and if the problem still is there the forum will be a great help.
By the way go to the link below and say hello...

Just kidding, an old joke. Let us know if that does not solve your problem. Sometimes the right tank does not transfer fuel to the left tank. If you still have issues we need to get some more information from you to determine what is going on.
PS: I once read a book on anti gravity. I just couldn't put it down.
Unfortunate but I found only one official dealer of Chevron and Texaco in Russia and it is wholesaler only.
Well-known American oil brand in Russia is only Mobil.
After work I visited a part-store. There were lots of similar liquids. "Injector cleaner", "Fuel system cleaner". I bought one German and one Russian bottle. Try to use them for first time and tommorow continue searching Techron in stock. In case of failure have to wait Techron from USA.

Just kidding, an old joke
It became a joke every time something popular was invented.
"we invented it first"
I hope that makes sense.

It was a BIG part of the cold-war propaganda efforts, the idea supposedly being that the People's Republic is the perfect system of government in the world and that all good ideas/inventions/engineering, etc. came from USSR minds FIRST. Btw, it's "Khrushchev".

I have personally used BG BK-44 on occasion and it worked when the Techron would stop working. It is pricy (about $25 USD per can/treatment), but it is a great product. I use it about twice a year and Techron in between.

But still there were many Soviet textbooks.
Math task: Communist Party of the Soviet Union was founded in 1912 year. How old it would be in 2013?
Reading:some texts about PArty, or young Lenin, or a stste farm.
Propaganda. And that time every grownup man think that all inventions in the WOrld are Soviet )))
But propagation is in a lot of countries. Propaganda is not bad at all. Majority German man sure that live in the best country. Majority French or Spanish or even Polish and Serbian people sure that live in best country.
The main thing is not to do it absurd like in USSR.
I don't know of the main Chemical in Techron, it has been posted here, and posted that most additives use the same stuff. It was developed at the request of Porsche who was having fouling problems with a new engine and getting complaints. Turned out to be a universal good additive so in the gas classification of "top tier " in the states, all run it.
Ask around, since modern Porsche engines have to have the stuff, a German garage might be helpful. Probably the German additive you have bought will have the same effect as Techron .
I don't get to wear my fur hat in California much, but I still have the good memories of the people I met. Hopefully your gas price is not a fun killer.
I had my mind blown long ago when a black Monte Carlo started doing burn outs up and down the Odessa main drag, (I can not spell the famous street) in the middle of severe communist Russia. Perhaps your grandfather?
