My 01 Z06 came from a barn. It has 26,000 miles on it, but not sure of service on the trans/diff. What oil is recommended for each? Would like to upgrade from stock if possible. Thanks in advance.

GM recommends its automatic trans fluid in the 6spd trans also. I know its strange but look it up with your local dealer or google.

If you have the deep pockets for it, there is a vendor that takes a C6 transmission and retrofits it to a C5. I'm sorry but I don't know which one. The T56 in C5's are crap. Mine went at mere 50K miles. Not having the money for the C6 trans, I went with a RPM tranny which although a T56, should last better than stock.

My car's got 109k and the trans is still snickety snick, I say you got a dud. The trans has a sticker that states you must use a Dex 3 compatible fluid, I used Amsoil Torque Drive and it's working great. I also put Amsoil 80W90 in the diff, do 'em both because I guarantee they're both original. Also purge your brake fluid and PS fluid. I used Royal Purple in the PS system, it was locally available and the thickest of the bunch.
