The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

1. Start with Clear Corner housings from Ebay or a Supporting Forum Vendor.
2. Buy LED Switchback bulbs to replace the stock bulbs to prevent melting of housing AND the Hyberflash Harness
3. Swap to LED 194 bulbs for the corner light in white or amber to keep legal if required in your state
At this point you realize how nice your new DRLs look...and more importantly how crappy your OEM fogs and lo/hi beams look, so you end up buying even more stuff.
4. HID ballasts/bulbs for the fog lights
5. Either HID ballasts/bulbs for the Lo/Hi beams OR full on projector headlamps (many options here depending on how much you want to spend).
All said and done your in for at least $300 in front end lighting and more if you go with projector headlamps.
Or I can sell you my factory DRL housings that still look pretty good for $50?

[/IMG]I had the same issue as most have had, with the bulb melting the casing, directly over the bulb (see old casing in photo).
When I got new ones, I cut a small hole, exactly where the melting takes place. Conveniently, the hole in the black frame attachment part, exactly is in the same place as where the bulb melts the casing. So, I JB Welded a 'new roof' of sorts over that location. And it fit neatly through the whole in the black part which attaches to the car.
In effect, raising the top of the casing another inch or more, away from the heat of the bulb. I did two coats, and then applied a little high heat caulk, to ensure a waterproof seal. Did this over a year ago, driven in rain many times (this is Illinois weather), and no problems; so far.
If I were you, and getting new bulb casings, I'd do this. Unless you go to the other type of bulbs which do not generate the same heat apparently.
Good luck.

I have the clear corners and really like them, They seemed to really update the frone a lot.
