I did that. Mine were very tired looking. I had mine redone by a local guy with the same type material for $60 bucks each plus tip 
Not sure I'd like the skin look but then again its your call.
They came our real nice, I'm very pleased with them. Good luck guy.
Btw while he was doing them I sported the no visor look for a couple weeks, I have to tell you I like that thought too. Just eliminate them altogether is also something to consider
