Default On the Dyno....

This is the before pull. All stock except for the GHL Bullets.

It laid down 313 at the wheels, with 326 foot pounds of torque.

What do you all think on the numbers? I really only expected about 290 at the wheels, considering its basically stock.

We're putting on the K&N Filtercharger and then he's going to do a full tune. I know some of you said that since its a 6 speed it's not really worth it, but he promises results.

We're also trading services, so it's really not a lot of money out of pocket.

I'll post up the after pulls tomorrow.

Sounds about right. You will want more though. If I could of redone it I would of just bought blower kit for the get go. This puny 10hp here and there for 1000's of dollars wasn't worth it.

I agree but a lot of folks don't have 10 grand laying around to
get a SC and all that has to go with it. There nothing wrong
with 400rwhp, with the little improvements.

Those were kind of my thoughts....

I think my next move will be headers, then a supercharger and just be done!

You need to find a new shop!! Most shops can install a SC (including the SC purchase) for less than 8K.

Huh? Most vendor sell the kit installed here for 6k or less installed tuned dynoed here is one out of well evryone around here it seems http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-f...6000-00-a.html

..You can buy the tuner kit for 5.5k or less and do it yourself. Or buy a used kit like I did for 3k. Not sure where you got 8k from if so I assume that's adding upgraded blower, cam, meth and gauges. Point being it's alot cheaper then most people think.

Lets say you buy new
1.5k=headers
1k=exhaust
intake=250
ported tb=150
plugs=25
install=500
tune=300
total=3725...For what 30hp? **** that

I know things can be had for less but I'm just saying if I could of done it over I would of just gone the sc route and screw the sissy bolton **** that got me no more then a mehhh in the butt dyno

or wait till winter when they are 5500 or lower installed.

Got it back today....

He showed me everything on the screen, but his printer is out of ink. Lol. He said he'd bring the print out by later today when he replaced the ink.

Anyway , on to the results.

It was sitting at 313 or 316 at the wheels, with just the GHL Bullets.

After the K&N filter kit and air bridge and a custom tune, the numbers are as follows:

338 at the wheels
408 at the crank
347 ft lbs of torque.

The car feels great, a definite difference, mainly at acceleration and then another huge difference around 4500rpms....

Oh, and a huge bonus for me, my a/c has never worked. Always blown hot as hell.

It was VERY low on freon. He filled it up and said it held vacuum for over 20 minutes, so he thinks that the leak is very small. He ran dye in it and said to bring it back if it starts blowing hot again. Right now it's ice cold...
