Default question on shocks

i have a 2002 c5 z06 with 110k miles... i feel like the shocks are on their way out. i was going to buy some c6 z06 shocks from gmpartshouse, but came across a good deal on 01 z06 shocks. would i be stupid to buy 01 zo6 shocks with 59k miles for my 110k mile 2002? any differences? how many miles do these shocks usually last?

There are too many variables to determine how long shocks will last. I would not buy used shocks. They may last you 50k miles or only 5k. If they last the latter did you really save money? Just buy the new shocks and call it a day.

I would buy the new shocks over some that have been on a car for 59K miles. New C6 Z06 shocks are not that expensive.

Unless you were getting them free, I would not put used shocks in. They are hardly that expensive - $250 for a set?

We would be happy to help you out with the C6 Z06 shocks or either of the Bilstein shocks.

I had gotten a whole set of used z06 shocks for $100 bucks. They last about 2 years then one of the front ones would no longer compress and the pointy end stabbed through my windshield wiper fluid holder. Anyways I have New Bilstein Sports and couldn't be happier, except for maybe some high end coilovers
