Cooling check valve do you need it?
The stupid plastic valve located right next to the overflow tank broke today. Hopefully no damage to the engine. cruising along when the dash reads exceed cooling temperature. then I look at the gauge and it pegged. Oh F*ck. turned the engine off and coasted into the gas station. luckily only a couple miles from home. let it cool a little. started and brought up to speed then shut off and coasted. Got home. let it cool to under 200 degrees. Started engine and got nothing. let it get cool more. added water and started. water pouring out between the hose where GM used some Crappy plastic check valve.
Now to the question can I just run a 9/16" or 5/8" pipe or do I need a check valve?
