I received my new Cray Mantas just before the holiday weekend started so, in anticipation of Tuesday when I might get them mounted, I jacked up the 'vette and thought I'd test fit the wheels and spin 'em to see if they're all true.
Well, the first one I mounted wobbled like crazy and I got this sick feeling along with some choice words thinking I was going to have to return them. I mounted another and it did the same thing! Now, I was really getting steamed....until I looked at the rotor closely and noticed the spring washers on two of the studs. I looked at the wheels I removed and they had a relief milled around the stud hole to clear the washers whereas the Crays did not.
I removed the washers, remounted the Crays and all is good. They spin true as can be.
Maybe it's time for a stronger eye glass prescription...

They're really useless as far as I'm concerned. I guess they were supposed to hold the rotor in place during assembly but, I think the wheel does a pretty good job of keeping them in place when mounted.

and a sign that your rotors have never been off of the car.... glad you figured it out and did not ship them back
BTDT!!! . I bought a set of CCW 505A's off of a forum member. I didn't notice the washers when I mounted them, and felt a slight vibration at $#%mph.... Then a couple days later, on a cruise, one of my friends said I had a bent rim! I was .
I did a search on here and CF came through as usual. After finding out about the washers, the first thing I did was check the stock rims and of course saw that they were milled. Whew! Definitely had me freaked out for short while. Washers removed...problem solved...
