I purchased a 2003 with 22000 miles. I plan on performing maintenance. since I am going to replace the belts, thermostat and coolant, I am curious as to what others do about the hoses. I am leaning towards just replacing them but I often lean towards the most conservative path.

The car is over 10 years old. It is time to replace the hoses. IMHO hoses "wear out" because of time and not so much mileage. The tubber eventually dries out, cracks and ruptures. They are inexpensive and cheap insurance.

Unless you want everything oem stock consider the silicone hoses. They set off the engine compartment. My 99 still has all the factory hoses but they're still nice and flexible. Heat is bad on the rubber and plastics under the hood since your car hasn't really been driven I would guess your hoses are in pretty good shape

I completely agree. You don't seem to see as many hoses blown out as there were back in the 80's and earlier. I am sure that rubber technology has come light years since. I believe in preventative maintenance; but if they aren't showing signs of bulging or drying/cracking, I say leave them and inspect again down the road.

MY '03 with 18.5K miles on it still has the original hoses on the car. They are still soft and flexible with no signs of cracking, etc. If yours are in good shape, just reuse them.
