Hey guys, so my 99's front emblem was gone before I bought the car. From the pics online, the front and rear emblems appear to be the same. Is there any difference? Seems the rear sell for less in general, is there any reason you can't use a rear on the front? Also, is there a good place to get these? Cheapest I can find so far is like $50 which, let's be honest, is total BS for a piece of plastic that small

Front has two posts that mount in holes. Rear is postless. Front is slightly curved. Rear is flatter. I bought my front on ebay used for $15. which is still high for what it is

How are the badges attached, and how are they removed for replacement?
They're cheap and made out of cheap material. The back emblem is stuck on with double sided tape, the front is as well with the two alignment pins. Unfortunately that makes the front emblem removal impractical for most as tlyoud have to get the holes filled. The cars do look cleaner with no emblems though.

What happened to me was the emblem on the front was weathered, and full of wax. The rear looked OK but always bothered me when I washed and waxed, and the same wax build up in the corners. So I removed the back one. So of course next up was the front. I was slightly horrified to find it was held on with tape and pins. I'd used fishing line to saw the back off and the front. Well of course the holes were unsightly so I found one on Ebay. To stick it back on I bought a roll of 3M super trim adhesive tape. Sold at Advance, Autozone, and even walmart. Stuck the tape to the emblem then trimmed it up as nice as I could with a sharp exacto knife.
If your emblems are faded or melted looking they sell stuff like this to enhance them, http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...1997-2004.html Other vendors sell different things. Ecklers is smoking some good stuff asking $115. for a factory stock replacement emblem.
