I have a 2000 c5 6 speed approaching 107k miles soon everything seemed to be well until recently the car won't start?? I turn the key and all I hear is a click and whirling no crank at all? But some days the car starts up and runs fine? Its just a gamble sometimes will start other times it wont?? I'm not sure if this is from the starter solenoid? Plus my passenger window screeches going up and down as well not sure if this problem is connected? The problem is sporadic and I can never tell when it will happen so I don't feel comfortable taking the car anywhere. I've even replaced the battery with a new one but didn't alleviate the problem. I have the same problem in my '02Z. It doesn't even click. No other problems. I had it to one Vette specialist for 3weeks and now have it in to the Chev dealer near us who has a Vette specialist. It doesn't always do it (usually when I am out by myself) Hubby can get it to start by pulling the passenger firewall cover and shaking the wires. It has done it for the dealer but they insist it is the starter switch which we replaced a year ago,and that should have nothing to do with shaking the wires.
Love my Vette, but getting fed up. Let me know if you find a cure!!
Could it be a ground issue? because the car seems to be turning on and off fine now? I just was going to buy a starter but heard from some people that it could be a issue with the electrical system?

It could be a number of things. Only systematic diagnostics can find out what is your problem. We asked you to clear your codes and see what comes back.
