I have not but have read threads where many have done this. You have to cut your OEM mid pipe after the cats and slip the x-pipe over them. I want to do it right and am awaiting the cash after Christmas/tax returns to get both the Magnaflow catted pipe and x-pipe. That way it all bolts up with no cutting and I get maximum flow to the catback.
honestly it would just be best to add headers or a catback with it
I understand, but I've read numerous articles about the quality of the stock Z06 Titanium system. I have also read/spoke to people about X pipes, and that (this is from my own informal observation) they tend to improve the exhaust. I do know they are used frequently to help with drone, but that is not a problem in my car. So, I was just curious.

if you plan to do headers later on you might as well do it all at once... my LG system, and probably most other complete header systems, bolts up with no welding required and you can use your factory axle back if you want as well as any other companies for that matter... if you weld an x-pipe in and then do headers later on it would just be a big mess in my opinion

I have Kooks Long Tubes and thier X pipe on my Zo6 w the Factory Ti's and its a bolt on kit.......so Im confused on your response that your worried about keeping your factory Ti's?!
The only custom exhaust work that would have to be done would be IF you kept your factory manifolds and used an after market x-pipe...

Only the catback is Titanium. Doing an x-pipe with no other mods doesn't accomplish very much. It doesn't sound any better, maybe worse actually and adds minimal power gains without headers and a tune. Probably not worth the work. Do the whole system all at once.
From what i have gathered, it will smooth out the sound of the exhaust a little bit... Mostly on decel, cleans up that "Motorboat" sound it gets.. The other thing it does is gets rid of the "H-pipe Gingle", i dont know if you have noticed but everynow and again when you are next to a fence or a building you can hear a little gingle from the car... that is caused somehow by the Stock H-pipe.. I dont get the gingle any more on mine when i replaced the stock H-pipe.
Dont expect huge differences in sound or power.. but its cheap enought, why not. thats my take on it.. I did C6Z06 exhaust on mine, the C6 ZR1 has a X and the Z06 has a H, so im sure there is some practical reason they did that.. if i come accross a good X cheap i will put it in. and Yes, the Rear mufflers and axle pipes are Ti... the Manifolds are cast, h-pipe is stainless.
