Default Fuel Guage

Took my 99 C5 out for her first long trip. The fuel gauge dropped to E about 75-100 miles after first fill up.
Stopped to make sure nothing was leaking, and when i started the car the gauge went back to 3/4. Never happened again until my return trip, and was about 3/4 when it happened again, but came back on
a little later. The next time it went to E it again it came back on when I started the car the next time.

Is this what happens to everyone?

Thanks for your help.

Default Techron and Seafoam are your friends.

Search and you will see that the sensors get corrupted by high sulphur gas. Might take a few doses and tankfuls to clear it up. Use one or the other not both at the same rime.

The Techron should help with the gas gauge problem. And once cleared, keep using it on a regular basis.
