and maybe a used C8 later.......if they fix the rear end. Heck even a C7 if it has that aftermarket rear facia that returns it to real corvette taillights.
Yea, you might want to raise your sights a little on the Ferrari. The Magnum car was a 308. Very sexy lines but the last one I saw up close, the interior was horrible, fit, finish and design all looked cheap.
If you want to be a look at me I am in a Ferrari 308 or 328 go for it! But I would not even give $20k for one especially now, my cousin owned one that he bought brand new back in '85 (we were early 20's at the time) to tool around in and I was not impressed then as I felt it was underpowered, and not to mention very expensive parts and /or to have worked on. My feelings are the same for a Viper as I have been in many and yes they do have great power and brakes but just very UN-refined when even compared to the C5 I now own.
I have had a lot of bucket list cars go through my hands over the years and still hope to get a mid-7 second dragster at some point as I have raced this car for 10+ years now and before that many years in 10 second cars, here is the one I have raced the last 10 years that runs 9.0's at 148.
A '57 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop like my first car.
Any year Jetstream blue Z06 or since dreaming a Zr1
A nice solid axle Vette, any year as long as it is a 4-speed.
A '69 Z/28 Camaro, must be blue with black stripes.
A garage large enough to hold these four plus my '67 roadster and '99 FRC.
1965 Ferrari Lusso
1967 Drop Top Vett,Marina Blue and I like the L79,4sp
1966 jaguar XKE 4.2
1962 Aston Martin DB5
1957 Cadillac Eldorado
2013 427 Corvette anniversary
2013 ZR1
Got to stop watching Mecum Auto Auctions, my list keeps growing
My Corvette was one of them; the only other one would be a 1965 Buick Riviera, the one with the clamshell headlight doors. This was the last year of the first generation that Bill Mitchell designed, and I feel it's the best of the breed, and what Mitchell would have wanted in the first place for the '63 and '64 editions.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
