Default KBB Value 2001 Z06

So, I was looking up value of my Z, looking to see if repairs will be enough to total it. I was expecting like high teens, not 34K, this changes from like 19 to 34 when I input mileage, what's the deal? Did these cars jump up +10K in the past few months? LOL.

KBB is useless IMO. So far out of whack it's crazy. You want a ballpark figure of what your car's worth? Use NADA.

NADA will give you a much more realistic value for the car.

NADA. Yea that looks more like it, about 19k. Initial repair estimate is $14,200. Anyone know how the value is computed, adjuster said he would go to 75% of value before totaling.

Or 20825, retail looks like. Do I get retail value in this situation, looks like its going to be really close either way it goes.

Your personal agent has more influence than most realize ... vs just dealing with an adjuster.

I'd call MY agent and have them PUSH for you - it really can make a difference ... they're supposed to do that anyway !

Good Luck

Well I'm one of the lucky ones, I have geico, so no personal hometown agent or any agent as far as that goes. Surprisingly enough the adjuster has been really cool so far, my damage is all mechanical by the way, my clutch exploded, and broke a lot of items, so I am just thankful that they are even covering it in the first place.

I stopped trusting KBB when dealers started selling for "kbb price".

Well just an update, the car did total approx. 13K in repairs with new parts of course. The insurance company gave me 23900 for car, of which I bought the car back from them for $6875. So I will now reapair car which will include, clutch, bell housing, torque tube, starter, fuel, brake lines, and an engine wiring harness if mine is actually damaged. I will be pulling engine and installing a new forged build of some kind ls2, or lq9. Not sure on that yet. All in all seems to be working out well for me at the moment. I have car and 15K plus to fix it back at my discretion.

that is a lucky turn. talk about going in your favor. the only bad part about the car now is resale since it's a salvage title.

fix the car and drive it to 200-250k and sell it for whatever many years down the road.

Are you sure about the salvage title part, the insurance comp will not be requesting a title. Just sending me a check for difference. The adjuster told me car fell into two stipulations, one being it's older than ten years, and two I am keeping so there would be no transfer of title.
