does anyone know how to keep the little round plastic things on the headlights from flying off. my third time replacing them. they are on the inside of the headlights. 99 c5..........
I ordered mine from the dealer. I remember it costing less than $6, which is prolly as good as I could do if I'd found them on the 'net.
Mine didn't fall off, I dropped it down the side as I was removing it and lost it in the bumper somewhere. When I reinstalled it, I made sure to have a strip of tape on it so I could retrieve it if I dropped that one. They've never come off on their own. I can't help there--but mine almost 'snap' into place when I turned them.
Replacements are also available at Mid-America and Corvette Central.
Personally, I hate them and wish the bezel didn't have them. Whenever I've needed to work on my lights, adjust them (HIDs), etc. I removed the entire bezel anyway.
Since I never plan to use them, I simply used some heavy duty duct tape and taped them on the inside to the bezel after screwing them in place. That way, even if they vibrate loose, I won't lose them. I was also thinking about using some super glue as a more permanent solution, however the duct tape seems to be working.
I'm always on the lookout for a solid carbon fiber bezel surround.
After losing mine (1 old style Capplug, and 1 new style) I used some black RTV to cement them in place. Simple enough to take out the 3 screws and remove the plastic trim piece when you need to.
