Default TRACTION SYS ACTIVE help
How come every time I peel out on first gear in my 1997 corvette c5 the message "TRACTION SYS ACTIVE" pops up on the dash?

It is normal, It is telling you the TC came on because the tires were spinning. RTM.
I can't believe you are asking this question.
