Looking for advice from someone who has installed resonator tubes on a C5.

Just installed Magnaflow axlebacks. Sound great from outside the car but the drone is not what I'm willing to put up with. Car is convertible with A4 tranny if that info helps.

Wondering if the resonator tubes are my best bet and no im not looking to switch to Corsas.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Jay

You might want to try a X-pipe on the car. I had a lot of drone with a set of B&B Route 66 catbacks I had on my '00 and installing the x-pipe cured better than 95% of that plus it stopped the popping when letting off the gas. Well worth the money.

ive read a few places where the x pipe dosnt seem to help with the drone. Can this be true as well?
Why a Bassani X pipe over say staying with a magnaflow one?

Sorry for the questions, just not looking to throw money at the car if it may not fix the problem.

Car doesn't have any popping when slowing down, I assume because its an automatic. Its just the drone Im looking to decrease.

I originally installed a B&B Bullet system on my car. I have a 6 speed and around 1800-2000rpm the drone would shake your teeth loose. Now it's important to mention that I really liked the way the car sounded but I couldn't stand the drone. All of my "Corvette friends" advised me to put an Xpipe on so I installed a Magnaflow Xpipe. The car sounded even better. The drone was still obnoxious but maybe slightly improved. Last year I finally got sick of putting up with it so I canned the Bullet system , kept the Xpipe and installed a Magnaflow system and I love it. There is still a slight drone but nothing compared to what I had. I have driven several of my friend's C5's with Corsa systems and what I don't like is that I can't hear the car so in the end , I think that, if you want a system that is a bit louder then you will have to contend with some drone but it doesn't have to be so bad that you can't carry on a conversation! Best of luck!!!
