strange HUD display

strange HUD display
I own a 2003 50Th 6speed with 10,000 miles
After reving it to 5500 rpm I got an orange 1 inch square at the bottom left side of the display.
It got a yellow line from top to bottom .
1/4 inch wide on the orange square on the left, then the whole square went away went again
All guages were normal.
It briefly came back after 1 minute and had the same color sequence.
There are no codes on the dic
The top was down and the sun was behind me.
Any ideas??

Any chance that it was just the angle of the sun hitting the HUD display? See if it occurs again perhaps when the sun is not out.

Near as I can tell, the orange piece is part of the HUD's internal construction. I see it from time-to-time if the sun is at the right angle. If it is hot out and the sun hits the windshield and dash just right, it will make the display appear to have a color wave go through it.
