I am finally replacing the original tires on my C5 convertible. I had hoped to buy the same tires as it came with but none of the tire stores (including Corvette Mikes) in my area can get the Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats.
Several guys have told me to go with a non-run flat tire to save cost and improve the ride.
The tires I'm considering are Goodyear F1 Asymmetric All Season. At first I thought I don't need an all season tire because the car has never been driven in the rain (in fact I've never driven the car with the top up). The problem is if I want to stay with Goodyear, that's all they could get. The other problem is, the pictures of the tire I've found look more like a passenger car tire vs something for a Corvette.
My questions are: What do you guys think about going to a non run flat and has anyone seen the F1 Asymmetric tires on a Corvette?
Add towing on your insurance or join triple a. Then get rid of the run flats and save yourself a ton of money. If you really want run flats go with the Michelins. Better ride, quieter and cheaper than the good years.
Check out the tires / wheels section of the forum. There is a huge amount of information about the various selections available. Many types that are much better / cheaper than the original equipment.

Plan A: You can call up Becker Tire in Anaheim and see if they still have the set that came off my car last Friday...less than two years old, probably 90% tread left. (They were near-new on the car when I bought it: I just couldn't face going though the years of rough noisy driving it would have taken me to use them up.)
Plan B: Do what I did and replace them with a set of Hankook V12 K110's, $775 installed.
From: In a parallel universe. Currently own 2014 Stingray Coupe.

I have no plans to ever put Goodyear tires back on my '03. I am currently running Hankook Ventus V12 EVO non-runflats and love them. Never had a problem with them in dry or wet driving conditions.
If you want to stay with runflats, I would agree that the Michelins are the way to go.
their tires have not kept pace with recent advances
the hankook v12 is night and day a better tire than what you're considering and they are cheap. definitely a best value tire
if you don't want a tire that says hankook on a corvette there is also the bridgestone re760 which isn't quite as good of a performance tire as the v12 {it's close though} but it's very cool looking and wears well
Lee, I'll call Becker in the morning. $775 out the door is too good of a deal to pass up! Did you get a special deal, or are they always that price?
Regular price, as far as I know. Had a set of the same Hankooks on my Boxster, great stuff.
And Becker (and their previous incarnation as Tires Warehouse) has treated me right over six cars since 1983.
