well the title pretty much says it all, my water pump is squealing like a stuck pig and leaking coolant! so i will be spending a portion of my Saturday working on that...i was wondering if there are any tips or tricks i should know about before I jump into this job? I tried the search but I couldn't find anything.
so if any of you have changed the water pump on your C5 fell free to chime in...
Its a fairly easy job, and a perfect opportunity to refresh your coolant. the job takes about an hour. It should be easy for anyone with tools and a shade tree mechanics aptitude. it can all be done from above. No lift needed. Make sure the ports are free of any gasket material and make sure you use new gaskets, and torque properly, always use anti seize on the threads.

get a bucket of water with a good deal of dish soap in it to clean everything before you re install the serpentine belt and start the car. you will dribble coolant on at least the crank pulley and you do not want to re install your serpentine with any coolant on the pulleys. it will slip, glaze, then squeak
well i got the water pump done not to bad of a job...i don't want to do it again but if i have to it will be a lot easier. i got the pump at auto zone with a lifetime warranty brand new not rebuilt for $137 came with all the gaskets also. man i sure did put that one off for a long time...BUT I GOT ER DONE NOW...
