Default To answer your reliability question.

For some time I've read posts and saw the questions, how reliable and what not. Well there are exceptions but I bought my 03 Z with 55,000mi. Drive it every day 40mi a day in Florida heat. 2 800mi Trips to Texas and I've just hit 100, 000. I have my complaints, like my stock seats are starting to suck and my short throw kinda pisses me off in traffic but the car is still ticking. I hope all you drivers out there who's car doesn't sit in the garage when its raining have similar stories.

Drove from Tampa FL to San Diego CA and not a single problem and I plan on driving it right back when I move to FL next year

DriftaVette- Did you change your valve springs? I bought my 02 z06 with 60k on it a few months ago. Im debating on changing them after researching on the forum but I am still on the fence about it. I hate to mess with something that isn't broken.

Excellent

This pretty much confirms the bullet proof reputation these cars have.

Change them ... you have no warning if it will happen or not, and if it does happen you could have way more to "mess with" than just a broken valve spring ... like a destroyed cylinder.

I daily drive my 04Z, and always have. My commute for the past three years has been 70 miles (round trip), and I'm approaching 150,000 miles on the car. Although, once I move in a couple more months, my total commute will be 5 miles.

My only real complaint is the tiny leak in my roof, located somewhere near the area where the door, fender and roof meet. Try as I might, I just can't seem to get to it. Not a big deal so far though, because my car is parked in a garage at work as well as home. Otherwise, my only 2 major repairs (relatively speaking) were the A/C condenser and the ECBM. The ECBM didn't cost me anything though, since I repaired it myself.

I'd buy a beater to drive to work every day, but I know I would still end up driving the Z more often than not.

Just drove ~1450 miles from Ks to DC, 300 of which were a "spirited" drive on the blue ridge pkwy. Car was flawless and it is not exactly set up for long drives, check my sig.
