Shifter alignment question

I have seen a few posts that talk about shifter alignment. What are the signs that show that you need to adjust the shifter? My 02 with 43k shifts good, but the 3-4 shift seems clunky to me. My dad has an 07 C6 and it seems like it shifts a lot smoother. I just changed out my tranny fluid and flushed the clutch.

Unless you have a problem with the shifter popping out of gear, or you cannot fully engage a gear, I would leave it alone.

Regally doubt it's out of alignment. I had to have mine realigned when after m new shifter install, I couldn't get into reverse.
