Air filter clips won't hook on
I can't get the two clips that hold the air filter assembly together to reach over the top and hook into the rear half. The flat wires are in the tracks and don't seem to be stuck on anything that would keep the clips from reaching. The two halves of the assembly appear to be lining up next to each other rather than being too far apart. Any ideas?

Compare your new air filter to old one..perhaps different thicknesses. Also I know when I installed mine had same issue the filter was not properly installed into housing. Double check direction of filter and see that it is installed as it should be.

My 03 did that when I got it last year. It would latch but pop up after a while. I took the air filter out and when I put it all back together it snapped tight like it should. Maybe yous is like mine and is not seated correctly.

Had this problem when I removed aftermarket CAI and re-installed the stock system. Could not get the clips to snap shut for a day. Slept on it and figured out that I had to to raise the inside half just enough for the clips to hold. That's the part that mates with the MAF-airbridge. You may have to raise the MAF or make sure that inner part is seated correctly to the MAF. Doesn't need to be raised much - 1/8th of an inch or so. Good luck.
