Default First Time Post Regarding Key Learning on Forum

Greetings from Grand Rapids, Michigan,

I have been registered in this excellent forum for over a year as I purchased a Torch Red 2000 last June. During that time I have learned greatly from all of you and wanted to take this chance to thank you. I have listed below all of the " Key Learnings" that I have implemented and encourage others to do the same, as the threads and knowledge contained in this forum have saved me a large amount of cash as opposed to paying someone to do them.

Learned how to properly flush the radiator and change the fluid suffering from the dreaded brown sludge.

Repaired headlight intermittency fixed by tightening battery cables.

Removed / cleaned and painted calipers and replace rotors and pads.

Learned how to Porter-Cable the exterior to remove swirl marks without burning thru the clear.

Learned how to repair / paint the peeling/flaking inner wheel drums to avoid replacing wheels.

Learned how to tastefully paint select under-hood components to make it look cool.

Learned about XsPower exhaust and had it installed.

Selected the leather / and interior cleaners to bring my Vette back to life.

Met Dennis @ Double D Mods and purchased a stealth sub-box.

Diagnosed a bad left front wheel bearing and saved me from being overcharged by the dealer.

This place does have a wealth of info for the DIY'er and can save you a bunch of money. That translates into more cash for mods.

Good for you! We are here to spread the word. When you have nothing better to do, visit the DIY sticky and just go through them to see what else you may want to do some day. The C5 is one of the easiest cars to work on, and as you are finding out, very satisfying to do your own work.
