Got my car serviced today by the dealer, yeah I know but I'm lazy.
Had a 160 degree thermostat installed, flush and fill, new hoses and the radiator cleaned. The amount of leaves and crap that got sucked up into the radiator area was crazy! Must remember to get that checked regularly.
Before the service my car would heat up to 205 - 210 degrees. Now the highest temp I saw was 180 degrees. Auto trans temps are down too.
i replace a radiator in any car i own if it's more than ten years old. the corvettes especially should be cleaned yearly. all depends on the design of the car, corvette just happens to be one of the worst for picking up debris. the c4 and c6 are the same way.

Money well spent in my book.
Its a same you don't read this forum very much. 205F and 210F degrees is much much better than running at 180F. The actual sweet spot for an LSX engine is 200F to 210F. WORST THING IS WITH A 160 STAT IN DELAWARE when tempos get down in the 20's and 30's you will actually see 160 coolant temps for long periods of time. This is the kiss of death for an LSX engine.

I do read the forum and actually referred to several of your posts about the temp issue. The difference with me is I don't drive my cars in the winter when it gets extremely cold. My car will be parked at the end of the month and won't be driven again until May or June. I expect the operating temps to be higher in the summer months, approaching 190 - 195 degrees.
I had mine flushed and filled today. I didn't replace hoses...should consider that. Are you pulling the radiator out entirely to clean it?
I had my hoses replaced because one of them had a bubble in it. The radiator wasn't removed from the car, just the area in front of it had become clogged with leaves and junk and this was cleaned out.

If that's the case then you should be ok.. but you will be missing out on that great dense cold air where temps can get in the 30' and forty's ... the car likes that cold intake air and you can feel it in the seat of your pants. Not to be confused with coolant and oil temps. Cold oil starves off the top end, causes cam lobe damage and lifter damage. of course this does not happen over night but consistent cold oil temps can turn a 200,000 mile motor into a 100,000 mile motor.
