Default Part time turn signals

Lately the turn signals on my Vette have been kinda an off and on thing. But not as the designers planned. Occasionally I will signal a turn and nothing. Though when I activate the emergancy flasher, the turn signals will start working after that. They dont fail all the time, but I suspect this is the beginning.
Is there a known gremlin that is causing this. Have any of you experienced this same problem?
Any input would be apperciated.

Thank you

Sounds like your 4 way flasher is going out, Next time they don't work try pushing the 4 way flasher on and off really fast about 10 times and see if they start working.

My 4-way is getting 'old', too.

I've found that by simply wiggling the 4-way switch from side to side or up and down, the turn signals will start working again.

When they finally fail, I'm going to pull the trigger and buy and install the Radioflyer Innovations Hyperflash Harness and bypass the stock flasher unit altogether.

I agree, your Flasher unit inside the Hazard switch is going out. Mine did that too. You can replace it or go with the Hyperflash fix. It is easier than removing the hazard switch. I had planned to go with the Hyperflash fix but decided since I had the radio out to put in a CD unit to just do a "relocation" of the "actual" hazard switch. Here is the link to what I did:

I still have my new and unused Hyperflash I would be glad to sell if you want it. Had planned to put it on eBay. I will sell for 50% of what they go for, don't remember the cost. Didn't respond to just sell it. If you want it or if I can help you at all with which ever way you go just email or PM me.

So...... The first likely culprit is the fourway flasher switch. Seems simple enough. Is this as easy to get to as it looks or is this one those "must disassemble the whole dash first" conquests.

You could disassemble the whole dash, or take the short-cuts seen below:

Thanks!!
This appears to be good rainy day project. Lump that one in with the gear shift indicator light and the dull heater/ac light.
