As many of you have read I just installed a cam with a LSA on 110. Let's just say it wasn't the most mild mannered cam in the world. Lunging hard if it dropped below 1500rpms and needing 1500+ rpm with some slipping of the clutch just to take off. Surging in any gear if rpms dropped below 1500. Didn't want to start once you shut it off without your foot on the peddle and heaven forbid you turn the A/C on.

After some trips back and forth to work to get a few hundred miles on it so I could change the oil again and for James to get an opening. On Monday that opening came and I drove the 4 hours to have him work his magic.

For those of you that don't know James Short @ ShorTuning. He is a tuner who's shop is about 45 min south of Lexington KY.

I pulled into his shop staring at a few nasty look C6 Z06s, but this didn't surprise me because I new he tuned the world record setting ZR1 that I got to see at LSX fest. I didn't know till later that one of the Z06s held two world records and was there to be tuned for a bigger cam and more juice.

But long story short, James Short is the man. He spent 5 hours on the dyno with my car and another hour on the street.
The car drives near stock now and pulls like a raped ape. I just wanted to give him a shout out and thank him once again for his unbelievable ability to put a tune in check.

I agree that all tuners are not the same. Mine was great and I can really tell the difference. I think mine had the perfect touch on the keys of his laptop. Kidding aside, there is a difference.

I saw another thread but have to ask what kind of power did it end up with the cam and tune?

You obviously found a tuner that knows his stuff. Congrats and enjoy the new driveability of the car.

I'll post numbers on the 19th when it goes back on the original dyno. I had it dynoed on a mustang dyno locally before the cam went in, so I'll know exactly what gains it made.

For warning to all that have there cars dynoed by james. They don't call his dyno the heartbreaker for nothing. I was very down till he started showing me what other cars had made. A H/C/B Vette @ 10 just got into the 4s. And a H/C/Fast102 setup made 368 but made 45? on another dyno a couple days later. So I don't put a lot of faith in the numbers off his dyno in comparison to other less conservative dynos. One of the World record setting Vette that were there runs 8.80s and only made 650hp ..

I should say that he is in the process of buying another dyno. The limits of his current dyno have been reached by several of the cars he tunes.

As far as tuning goes James Short @ShorTuning is second to none. He is a stand up, honest kinda guy. That knows what he is doing with HPtuners. I could'nt even visually keep up with what he was doing on his laptop because he is so fast on it. Even with him keeping me informed of what he was doing.

I'm very pleased with his work. This is my 5th dyno tuning experience on several different cars(first with James). This is the first time I've walked away feeling like my money was very well spent.
